Easy Art!

These blocks really make a statement in a room and they were SUPER easy to make. The hardest part of this project was hanging them up. Mainly because I'm a perfectionist and I had to make sure that all of the dimensions lined up perfectly. Since I didn't have a pattern or stencil to help with hanging them up, I had to result to outlining everything with painters tape and newspaper. Anyways, it was all worth it because the final outcome is better than I could have hoped for.

I got the idea and steps to do this project from http://jensidea.blogspot.com/. You should go check out her blog, Becoming Martha, when you get a chance. She is awesome!

WOOO PIG!!!!

It is pretty rare to find someone in Arkansas who isn't a Razorback fan. At the beginning of football season I got a few requests to make some Razorback artwork for some diehard fans. Below is what I came up with.

This lady is known for saying Woo Pig Y'all in the office when it gets close to game day. I thought it was only fair that she had some kind of office decor that shared the same message.

Baby Letters!

One of my favorite decorations for a new comer to the family or an addition to a child's room is their name displayed over their crib or bed. The first set of letters I did were for my niece and nephew. I've done a little more since then and can see some improvement since my first attempt.

For Cali's letters I trimmed them in white and tried to make the design girly-but something that could grow up with her as well (she's only 6 so they will be able to stick around for a few more years before she will need a new look).
I made Tucker's letters to go with his blue and yellow nursery. Although you can't see it in this picture, his letters are trimmed in a pale yellow.

Keira's letters, as you can see, do not hang in a straight line. And the letters K, I, and A are trimmed in pink while the E and R are trimmed in brown. I think that Keira's letters are my fav :)

For the birds

Okay so this is the second attempt at painting:
(Sorry for the grainy picture)

I got the inspiration for this set when doing a little wedding planning. Our theme is love birds and our colors are yellow, grey, and white (with a hint of black). Our bedroom is also done in the same colors so I thought why not incorporate the theme too? So, this is now hanging up in our bedroom.

Our bedroom is nowhere near done with decorations but since school has started back up I have less and less time to do the painting and crafts that I would like. When I graduate in December, my next project is operation decoration for the bedroom :)

Black and White and Mirrors All Over!

This is the first project I made:
I made it to go in my bathroom. It goes well with my shower curtain without being too matchy-matchy.
I'm very proud of this painting. I got the idea one night when I couldn't go to sleep. It was the first time I ever painted anything on canvas or done anything art related. It felt so good to create something and I got a lot of positive feedback from it. I was hooked. I knew that I wanted to do more creative projects. So I did...and now I want to share it all with all of you!

Welcome!

Hi! My name is Codi. I am currently enrolled in my LAST semester of college and I also work full time. DIY projects and crafts are my happy escape from homework and stress. I try to do a new project every free chance that I get. Sadly, those moments don't come around as much as I would like. I started this blog as a way to share my completed projects with others in hopes that I can inspire you to get creative and crafty too!
